An organization working for the rights and dignity of marginalized communities. Justice. Community Development Services (CDS) was founded in 1978 as a family planning service provider complimenting the government's population control program.

These include good schools and educational offerings; convenient access to goods and services; easily available public transportation; streets that are both walkable and bikeable; availability of jobs; a mix of housing; health and wellness centers; parks; gardens and activities that improve quality of life.

Community development is intended to empower community members and create stronger and more connected communities. Community development is a holistic approach grounded in principles of empowerment, human rights, inclusion, social justice, self-determination and collective action (Kenny & Connors, 2017).

Community development (CD) contains a variety of disciplines within the social sciences and cultural arts; as such, CD has many definitions: “The purpose of community development is the pursuit of solidarity and agency by adhering to the principles of self-help, felt needs, and participation.” ( 1)
